A demolition hammer is a heavy-duty power tool designed for breaking, chipping, and demolishing hard construction materials such as concrete, brick, asphalt, and masonry. It operates using an electric motor that drives a powerful percussion mechanism to deliver high-impact blows through a chisel bit. The tool typically consists of a robust motor, impact (hammering) mechanism, SDS-Max or hex chuck system, vibration-dampening handles, auxiliary grip, and a durable heat-resistant housing. Operation:
To operate a demolition hammer, the appropriate chisel bit is securely fitted into the chuck system. The tool is then connected to a power source and positioned firmly on the surface to be broken. When switched on, the internal hammering mechanism delivers rapid, repeated impacts that fracture the material without rotational movement. The operator guides the tool steadily while applying controlled pressure to achieve efficient breaking. After use, the tool is switched off, allowed to cool, and the chisel is removed. It should then be cleaned, inspected for wear or damage, and stored safely in a dry place.
