An LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is a flat-panel display technology that uses liquid crystals combined with light to produce images. The core component is a layer of liquid crystal molecules placed between two transparent electrodes and polarized glass filters. These liquid crystals do not emit light themselves; instead, they control the passage of light from a backlight (usually LED). When electrical voltage is applied to specific pixels, the liquid crystal molecules change their alignment, either allowing light to pass through or blocking it. This process forms images, text, or videos on the screen. The display is controlled by a driver circuit that sends signals to individual pixels, adjusting brightness, color, and contrast. LCDs are widely used in devices such as televisions, computer monitors, smartphones, and industrial equipment because they are energy-efficient, lightweight, and capable of producing clear, high-resolution images.
