Operation

To operate the plumb bob, securely attach the cord to a fixed point directly above the area to be checked and allow the weighted bob to hang freely. Wait until the plumb bob stops swinging so that it settles into a true vertical position. Compare the position of the pointed tip with the reference mark or the surface being aligned to determine whether the structure is perfectly vertical. If adjustments are required, reposition the workpiece until it aligns accurately with the plumb line. After use, carefully wind the cord to prevent tangling, clean the plumb bob to remove dirt or moisture, inspect the cord for wear or damage, and store the tool in a dry location to maintain its accuracy and prolong its service life.
