Introduction to Woodworking Electric Planer Saw
A woodworking planer saw is a machine used to smooth, level, and reduce the thickness of wooden boards while also preparing them for accurate cutting. It is commonly used in carpentry workshops, furniture making, and timber processing. The machine may combine planing and cutting functions or refer to a planer used alongside a saw. It typically consists of a flat working table, rotating cutting blades (cutter head), a feed system to move the wood, a motor, and adjustment controls for thickness and depth.
In operation, the wood is placed on the machine table and adjusted to the required thickness. When the machine is switched on, the motor rotates the cutter head at high speed. The feed system moves the wood across or under the rotating blades, which shave off thin layers from the surface, making it smooth and even. If combined with a saw function, the wood can then be cut to size after planing. The operator ensures steady feeding to achieve uniform results. After processing, the machine is switched off, and the finished wood is removed, ready for further use.
