A manual maize thresher is an agricultural machine used to separate maize kernels from dried cobs without the use of electricity or fuel. It consists of a sturdy frame, a threshing drum fitted with teeth or spikes, a feeding inlet, a hand-crank mechanism, and grain collection outlets. The machine is designed to reduce labor, increase productivity, and minimize grain damage compared to traditional hand-shelling methods.
In operation, dried maize cobs are fed into the threshing chamber while the operator turns the hand crank to rotate the threshing drum.
