In operation, clean water is supplied through the faucet, which is connected to a plumbing system. The user controls the flow and temperature of the water using taps or mixer handles. After use, the wastewater flows through the drain outlet, passing through a trap (U-shaped pipe) that prevents foul odors from coming back up, and then into the drainage system.
