A Forklift Truck is a powered industrial vehicle designed for lifting, transporting, stacking, and unloading heavy materials over short distances in warehouses, factories, construction sites, and logistics centers. It consists of a sturdy chassis, mast, forks, hydraulic lifting system, power unit (diesel, petrol, LPG, or electric), transmission system, steering mechanism, operator controls, and safety features such as brakes, overhead guards, and load backrests. The forklift is engineered to provide efficient and stable material handling while improving productivity and reducing manual labor.
Operation
To operate the forklift truck, the operator conducts a pre-use inspection and starts the engine or power system before positioning the forks beneath the load. Using the hydraulic controls, the load is lifted to a safe transport height, and the forklift is driven carefully to the required location while maintaining stability and observing safety procedures. Once at the destination, the operator lowers the load gently into position, withdraws the forks, and returns the mast to a safe position. After use, the forklift is parked on a level surface with the forks fully lowered, the parking brake engaged, and the power switched off to ensure safe operation and storage.
