A Manual Drum Carrier is a hand-operated material handling device designed for lifting, transporting, and positioning standard industrial drums (typically 200–250 liters) without the use of electric or hydraulic power. It is constructed with a strong steel frame, mechanical gripping or hook mechanism, support arms, and heavy-duty wheels or castors for movement. The design allows the operator to securely engage the drum and tilt or lift it for controlled transportation, ensuring stability, safety, and reduced physical strain during handling operations.
Operation
To operate the manual drum carrier, the operator positions the device close to the drum and engages the gripping mechanism to firmly secure it. Using the mechanical lifting or tilting handle, the drum is raised slightly off the ground and balanced onto the carrier’s support frame. The operator then manually pushes or pulls the carrier to the desired location using the wheels for smooth movement. Once at the destination, the drum is carefully lowered and released from the gripping mechanism, after which the carrier is reset and stored for future use.
