A miter saw is a power tool used for making accurate crosscuts and angled cuts in materials such as wood, plastic, and sometimes metal. It is widely used in carpentry, construction, and furniture making. The machine consists of a circular saw blade mounted on a pivoting arm, a flat base (table), a fence to hold the material in place, and an adjustable angle system for making precise cuts. In operation, the material to be cut is placed firmly against the fence on the base of the saw. The user sets the desired cutting angle using the adjustment controls.
