A cable tie is a simple fastening device used for bundling, organizing, and securing electrical cables, wires, hoses, and other items. It is commonly made from nylon (polyamide), stainless steel, or plastic materials, providing flexibility, tensile strength, and resistance to wear. A typical cable tie consists of a flexible strap with a ratchet-like locking head that allows one-way tightening. Once locked, it cannot be easily loosened without cutting. Operation:
To operate a cable tie, the strap is wrapped around the cables or objects to be secured. The pointed end is then inserted into the locking head and pulled tight until the required firmness is achieved. The internal ratchet mechanism prevents the tie from loosening, ensuring a secure hold. Excess strap is trimmed off using cutting pliers or a knife. After installation, the tie remains fixed until it is cut for removal. Proper selection of size and material ensures safe and effective fastening without damaging the secured items.
