A shotcrete machine is construction equipment used to spray concrete or mortar at high velocity onto surfaces such as walls, tunnels, slopes, and structural frames. It consists of a feed hopper, air compressor system, rotor or dosing unit, delivery hose, and a spray nozzle. The machine is designed to transport dry or wet concrete mix through compressed air, allowing it to adhere firmly to surfaces without the need for traditional formwork.
In operation, the concrete material is fed into the hopper and regulated through a rotary dosing system. Compressed air propels the material through the hose to the nozzle, where water (in dry-mix systems) or additional mixing (in wet-mix systems) is introduced. The high-velocity spray ensures strong compaction upon impact, reducing voids and improving bonding strength. Shotcrete machines are widely used in tunnel lining, slope stabilization, swimming pool construction, and repair of damaged concrete structures.
