An electric vibrator is a construction tool used to compact and consolidate freshly poured concrete by removing trapped air and improving its density. It is powered by an electric motor and typically consists of a power unit, a flexible shaft or cable, and a vibrating head (also called a needle or poker). Electric vibrators are commonly used in building works such as columns, beams, slabs, and foundations, especially where a reliable electricity supply is available.

Operation
When the machine is switched on, the electric motor drives an internal mechanism that produces rapid vibrations at the vibrating head. The operator inserts the vibrating head into the wet concrete, where the vibrations cause the concrete mix to flow and settle more tightly by eliminating air pockets. The operator moves the vibrator systematically across the poured area to ensure uniform compaction. After adequate consolidation, the vibrator is withdrawn slowly to prevent voids, leaving the concrete strong, dense, and properly finished.
